Super League match preview: Castleford Tigers v Widnes Vikings

Former captain Orr took the reins during the week following the departure of Ian Millward and his assistant coach Stuart Donlan.

The lone change for the Tigers sees winger Kirk Dixon come into the matchday squad in place of James Clare.

Ryan Boyle retains his place in the squad after impressing on his return to the club against Huddersfield Giants last weekend.

Prop Nathan Massey is available for the clash despite being substituted against the Giants following an injury scare.

Absent Trio

Second rows Dave Allen, Hep Cahill and Gareth Hock are all out of action for the Widnes Vikings as they make the trip over the Pennines.

The trio's absence does however pave the way for 19-year-old local forward Adam Lawton to make the squad.

Lawton has progressed through the club's academy system and his inclusion in the provisional squad indicates a likely first team debut for the prop.

Widnes enter the clash in fine form having registered a record Super League score against Salford last Sunday, beating the City Reds 58-24.

Meanwhile the hosts seek only their second win of the campaign after nine defeats have seen them rooted at the foot of the Super League standings.

Despite siting rock bottom the Tigers have run out victorious in four of the five previous meetings between the sides.
