It is sure to be an emotionally charged atmosphere at Brewery Field on Saturday in a rescheduled game that was postponed following the death of Wildcats reserve team player Leon Walker.
The sides had been set to play on March 22, before the youngster collapsed during a second string match between the teams and was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Swansea's Morriston Hospital.
Both parties agreed to postpone the match, therefore, and are set to do battle for the first team this season.
The Crusaders are still going in search of their first home win of 2009, but ended a 12-match losing run in Super League with victory at Bradford on May 17.
Catalans Dragons then turned them over on return to Wales, but it was a close run thing against the French with a disallowed try that would have given the hosts the lead midway through the second-half proving the turning point in the 30-18 defeat.
Matt Smith drops out of the Crusaders' 19-man squad after dislocating his elbow and has been ruled out for upto six weeks.
Adam Peek returns to the party in his place, though, following four weeks on the sidelines after aggravating an injury when scoring a try against Castleford in April.
Problems
Wakefield Wildcats slipped to eighth in the Super League standings following a 54-6 reversal at home to the Huddersfield Giants last time out.
Indeed they come into the game on the back of five straight defeats, including the Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth-round tie turnover against Wigan.
Scotland captain Danny Brough is back after serving a one-match suspension imposed by the club, while Danny Sculthorpe has paid a far heavier price for his involvement.
The front-rower caused controversy with his reaction to the disciplinary action and has been loaned out in exchange for Huddersfield Giants front rower Michael Korkidas as a result.
Korkidas is back for a second spell at the club after slipping down the pecking order in his time at Belle Vue and could well make an appearance against the Welsh.

Wildcats squad: Blaymire, Martin, Atkins, Peterson, Rooney, Brough, Demetriou, Drew, Snitch, Wilkes, Grix, Obst , Stosic, Bibey, Winternstein, Gleeson, Leo-Latu, Korkidas, Ferguson.
