Huddersfield got their play-off charge back on track as they ended a three-game losing streak with a 46-26 win over Hull KR.
Rovers came into the contest with the incentive of knowing that a win would take them into the top eight at the expense of Hull FC.
And they were competitive for 60 minutes before the Giants got the upper hand in the final quarter, brutally exposing the defensive frailties which have dogged Hull KR all season.
Rovers made a fast start and were first on the board inside two minutes when Clint Newton fired out a pass from dummy half and Scott Taylor powered over, with Michael Dobson adding the extras.
The Giants quickly hit back as Luke Robinson's pinpoint bomb was expertly plucked out of the air by Leroy Cudjoe, with Scott Grix levelling the scores.
Moments later they had the lead, Louis Sheriff fumbling Danny Brough's high kick before David Faiumu threw the dummy from acting half and dived over to score.
Back came Rovers as Newton broke from deep and Josh Hodgson was on his shoulder to take the scoring pass, with Dobson converting and kicking a penalty to edge the visitors ahead.
Huddersfield re-took the lead for the final time just before the half, as Andy Raleigh was adjudged by the video ref to have had the ball reefed away as he tried to score and the try was awarded to the alert Grix.
Havoc
Worse was to follow on the hooter for Rovers when another high kick from Brough caused havoc in the defence and Graeme Horne took advantage in the corner, with Cudjoe knocking over the conversion for a 24-14 half-time lead.
Rovers were far from done and again struck early in the half, this time a miracle offload from Dobson setting up Ben Fisher.
Horne then bounced off two tacklers to score in the right corner and although Jake Webster raced 60 metres to score for Rovers, the Giants were getting a grip on the game.
Anoter error from Sheriff resulted in a try for Danny Kirmond and a kick-off out on the full summed up Rovers' disintegration.
Scott Grix was next to take advantage after Cudjoe raced down the touchline and hacked on, with Eorl Crabtree crashing over from close range from Faiumu's short pass to seal it.
