Huddersfield hope to have Scott Grix available for Sunday's Yorkshire derby against Castleford at the Shay in Halifax.
Full-back Grix was knocked out of the Giants' victory over Hull FC after a heavy tackle from centre Kirk Yeaman, although the hit was deemed legal.
He has been included in Nathan Brown's 19-man squad after passing the required tests following a concussion, so he could yet face the Tigers.
"Scott took a really heavy bang as everyone saw and he had a few headaches at the start of this week, he has to go through the official procedures with regards to head testing but we are hopeful if he manages that then he will be in contention to play," Huddersfield assistant coach Paul Anderson said.
The 'home' side will certainly have Eorl Crabtree and Dale Ferguson available after the pair missed the win over the Airlie Birds at the KC Stadium.
David Fa'aologo should also continue in the 17 after making a successful return from a hamstring injury.
Re-laid pitch
With the pitch being re-laid at the Galpharm Stadium, the game will be taking place at Halifax's ground instead.
Castleford did beat their opponents at the Jungle earlier this year, recording an 18-12 triumph back in February. They also defeated Huddersfield on home soil in 2010, although they lost the return fixture 24-0.
Coach Terry Matterson will have to do without Willie Isa after the player picked up a foot injury in the comfortable victory over Harlequins last Sunday.
Long-term injury victim Craig Huby is also still on the sidelines but Paul Jackson, Martin Aspinwall and Nick Youngquest could all return.
The Tigers' success over Quins means they are now level with Leeds on 17 points - they also have a game in hand over the Rhinos - while they have opened up a six-point gap to ninth-placed Bradford.
Huddersfield squad: Grix, Lawrence, Cudjoe, Gilmour, Hodgson, Brown, Brough, Crabtree, Robinson, Griffin, Fa'alogo, Faiumu, Mason, Raleigh, Kirmond, Patrick, Horne, McGillvary, Wardle.
Castleford squad: Arundel, Aspinwall, Chase, Clark, Dixon, Emmitt, Ferres, Fozzard, Jackson, Jones, Mathers, Milner, Orr, Owen, Snitch, Thompson, Walker, Widders, Youngquest.
