Hull v Tigers: Teams

Castleford coach Terry Matterson says his high-flying side are confident ahead of Friday's visit to Hull, but competition for places is preventing complacency.

The Tigers stand second in the Super League table having used just 21 players so far this season, including Ryan Hudson and Steve Snitch.

Both Hudson and Snitch have not played since the opening game of the season, but Matterson is in no rush to bring his regulars back.

"We're healthy and confident but we're keeping it in check," he said. "The people who are missing out are doing that, keeping the players on their toes.

"There's no way they can remain comfortable when they've got some people nipping at their toes."

Castleford have won five matches from their opening six games, but it was their only away game that brought the defeat.

Challenge

Matterson is keen to address that when they visit the KC Stadium to play the Airlie Birds, who currently stand 10th in the table.

"We haven't had a whole lot of success there," he said. "We've been at home for the majority of the season so this is another challenge for us.

"We lost our last away match, at Bradford, and I see some similarities with this game. We are playing a team under a lot of pressure after a poor performance in their last home game."

Matterson is set to stick with the team that ran in 10 tries against Crusaders. Winger Richard Owen and hooker Ryan Hudson are again in the 19-man squad but not guaranteed to play.

Meanwhile, full-back Cameron Phelps returns for Hull after missing the win at Harlequins with a minor hamstring injury.

Richard Horne reverts to his stand-off role for the match while Sam Obst drops to the bench.
