Willie Peters says Hull KR are "striving" to become the fifth Super League team to win the World Club Challenge in their clash with NRL champions Brisbane Broncos on Thursday, live on Sky Sports.
Rovers had a 2025 to remember as they completed the domestic treble, winning the Challenge Cup, League Leaders' Shield and the Grand Final at Old Trafford to become the newest team to be named Super League champions.
Peters will be familiar with many of Brisbane's stars, having worked as Australia assistant coach for their Ashes series success in England over the winter, and he did not downplay the magnitude of the occasion ahead of the Robins' debut in the match.

"It's huge," the Australian said. "We're privileged to be part of it and we don't just make the numbers up.
"We want to make sure we do Super League and the game over here proud. We'll prepare well for it.
"We're striving to be that fifth [Super League] side to win it. No one's had a World Club Challenge game outside of those big fours, so it's just going to be nice to be part if it."
Hull KR's preparations for the contest were hit by a shock 19-18 defeat at newly-promoted York in their opening game of the 2026 Super League season.
Star half-back Mikey Lewis was sin-binned just after the hour mark for a trip on opposite number Liam Harris as the visitors led 18-6 at the LNER Community Stadium, only for the Knights to produce a stirring comeback for an unforgettable victory.
The England international has avoided suspension ahead of Thursday's clash, which will be held at the home of rivals Hull FC and will see over 24,000 supporters back the Robins at a sold-out MKM Stadium.
"They will bring the atmosphere. There will be 24,000 [KR fans]," Peters added. "Twenty-four thousand in Hull will be loud, but we have to give something to cheer about."
Brisbane head coach Michael Maguire is no stranger to the World Club Challenge, having won the fixture while in charge of South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2015.
He has also been on the losing side with Wigan in 2011 and, after ending the Broncos' 19-year wait for a NRL title, is relishing the physical battle against their English hosts.
"Hull KR work really hard for each other," Maguire told at a press conference. "You become successful for a reason and it's the things that they're doing as a team.
"They can shift the ball, they can attack and get you anywhere on the field. We're very aware of what they're going to throw at us. We've got to make sure defensively that we're really strong.
"The forwards lay a platform for the spine, so I'm sure it's going to be a tough battle in the middle of the field as well. We're looking forward to it."
