Vinnie Anderson could make his Salford debut after being included in the Reds' 19-man squad to face Crusaders at the Willows on Saturday.
Second rower Anderson was signed from Warrington in the close season but has yet to appear for his new club due to a back injury.
However, he may now be in line to appear against the Crusaders, while fellow new signing Iafeta Paleaaesina is back in the squad after missing the last two games with a calf problem.
Ashley Gibson and Jack Spencer drop out of the squad to make way for the duo, but acting head coach Steve Simms may opt to name an unchanged side.
The Reds come into the contest on the back of two straight wins over Hull KR and Catalan Dragons, with Simms using the same starting line-up on both those occasions.
Crusaders' Australian trio of on Rhys Hanbury, Frank Winterstein and Hep Cahill are set to make their first appearances of the season after finally being given visa clearance.
Cahill could make his debut after signing from Melbourne Storm and says he has already settled into the squad after his later-than-expected arrival.
Long wait
"It has been crazy waiting this long," he told the Crusaders' official website.
"To finally be here is awesome and I am looking forward to playing. The boys have all been great so it has been very easy for me to settle in.
"The club sent over a few training plans while I was stuck over in Oz, but it was hard being over there by myself.
"I did a bit of training with the Melbourne Storm boys during their pre-season to try and stay fit. That helped me out a bit but it is a relief to finally be here."
Half-back Michael Witt will not be available after being handed a one-match ban for striking Castleford full-back Richard Mathers during Crusaders' 56-16 defeat to the Tigers last time out.
Paul Johnson and Jordan James return from injury, while a late change sees Jordan Tansey included at the expense of Gil Dudson.
Peter Lupton is back in contention after missing the Castleford clash to be at the birth of his child, while Lincoln Withers is ruled out due to a hamstring strain.
Salford squad: Patten, Broughton, Henry, Nero, Anderson, Ratchford, Holdsworth, Cashmere, Godwin, Boyle, Neal, L. Adamson, Wild, Smith, Sneyd, Jewitt, Sidlow, Paleaaesina, Gleeson.
Crusaders squad: Schifcofske, Thomas, Martin, Mellars, Reardon, Sammut, O'Hara, Bryant, Cahill, Chan, Winternstein, James, White, Flower, Moore, Lupton, Johnson, Hanbury, Tansey.
