Salford are without Stefan Ratchford and Willie Talau for the visit of Harlequins after being told they require operations.
Shaun McRae's injury-hit side is already without Lee Jewitt, Ray Cashmere and Dean McGilvray for a match the Reds must win to edge ahead of their fellow Super League strugglers.
However, Ratchford has been told he needs surgery on a shoulder problem he re-injured against St Helens last week, while former Saints centre Talau requires an operation on his knee.
Prop Adam Neal, who extended his deal with the Reds until the end of the season this week, will hope to be involved, while Luke Adamson could return.
"I think Harlequins are a tough side, no matter where you play them," said McRae. "We did manage to beat them at the Stoop earlier this year and we will be looking forward to trying to do the same thing again.
"They have got plenty of play in them. They pass the ball and have an excellent short kicking game. They have got plenty of strike in them so it will be a huge challenge.
"We are both level on 10 points so it will be a good opportunity to go ahead and get back to winning ways."
Golden return
Quins have named Jason Golden in their squad for the first time since he picked up a shoulder injury in April.
Luke Gale is also in the initial 19-man squad as is Ben Jones-Bishop, who suffered no ill-effects following his return from a fractured skull last week.
Lamont Bryan and Ryan Esders miss out are sidelined as Quins look to bounce back from two successive defeats.
Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook is confident the Quins can relaunch their season at the Willows and is keen to avenge Salford's 26-22 win in London earlier in the season.
"Our match against Salford at the Stoop was one of the most disappointing results of the season," he said. "We didn't turn up that day.
"But we are a different team from the one that played that day and have matured since then. We need to get wins quickly so that we can get into the play-offs.
"We drew positives from our game with Wigan last week and we believe that we can do better against Salford."
