Salford coach Phil Veivers has been boosted by the news that influential hooker Wayne Godwin has been passed fit to face Harlequins on Friday.
Godwin has overcome a hip complaint, but acting coach Veivers is still without the services of injured trio Sean Gleeson, Stephen Wild and Rob Parker.
The in-form Reds have won three of their last four matches in Super League but still find themselves three points behind Hull in the race for the final play-off berth.
Harlequins could give a Super League debut to Hemel Hempstead schoolboy Dan Sarginson at The Willows.
Sarginson featured for the club in their Challenge Cup thrashing of Gateshead in May, but is now available on a full-time basis having completed his A-Levels.
Winger Karl Pryce is also in contention to start after proving his fitness, but the Londoners will be without hooker Chad Randall who has damaged ankle ligaments.
Salford squad: Patten, Broughton, Nero, Jewitt, Henry, Ratchford, Holdsworth, Cashmere, Godwin, Boyle, Neal, L. Adamson, Anderson, Smith, Sneyd, Gibson, Sidlow, Paleaaesina, Spencer.
Harlequins squad: Ambler, Bailey, Briggs, Burnett, Calderwood, Clubb, Dorn, Ellis, Gale, Krasniqi, Melling, Mitchell, O'Callaghan, Pryce, Purdham, Sarginson, Temata, Ward, Wilkes.
