St Helens will have to do without full-back Paul Wellens against Hull KR on Friday due to head and back injuries.
The England international was hurt in the closing stages of Saints' 42-34 Super League defeat to Salford at the Willows last Saturday.
Coach Mick Potter used Leon Pryce as a stand-in full-back earlier in the season when Wellens was sidelined for five matches with a torn quad.
However, utility back Jonny Lomax is likely to move in from the wing for the clash with the Robins at the GPW Recruitment Stadium.
"I'm reluctant to move Leon because I'd lose a really good five-eighth," said Potter. "We didn't have Jonny last time."
Jamie Foster and Gary Wheeler, who has recovered from a wrist injury, are other options for the full-back role but Lomax is likely to get the nod.
Spoilt
"He's still working his way into a few different positions," added Potter. "Potentially he could be a full-back or a five-eighth and at the moment he's doing a good job on the wing. We're spoilt for choice at full-back."
Saints have received some good news, though, with second rower Chris Flannery set to return from a hip injury that ruled him out of the trip to the Reds.
Hull KR will again be without Jake Webster as they face Saints for the second time in the space of three games.
Rovers are still waiting to find out the full extent of the hip injury that ruled centre Webster out of last week's 54-10 victory over Crusaders.
Michael Ratu, who dropped out of the squad last week due to the return of Kris Welham, has been drafted in to the 19-man party.
The Robins will be looking to make amends for the last meeting of the two sides on May 2, when they were hammered 54-0 in the final match of Magic Weekend at Murrayfield.
St Helens squad: Gardner, Gidley, Pryce, Eastmond, Fozzard, Cunningham, Graham, Puletua, Flannery, Roby, Hargreaves, Moore, Clough, Ashurst, Wheeler, Dixon, Lomax, Emmitt, Foster.
Hull KR squad: Briscoe, Fox, Welham, Ratu, Cockayne, Clinton, Dobson, Vella, Hodgson, Wheeldon, Newton, Galea, I'Anson, Netherton, Watts, Cook, Fisher, Murrell, Lovegrove.
