Motu Tony looks set to finally make his debut for Wakefield in Sunday's Yorkshire derby against high-flying Huddersfield.
The former New Zealand international missed the start of the 2011 season with a broken hand and, more recently, has been on compassionate leave.
However the former Hull utility back has been included in coach John Kear's 19-man squad for Sunday's game at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
There is also a recall for another former Kiwi international, Jeremy Smith, as French hooker Julien Rinaldi is sidelined with a shoulder injury.
The Wildcats fans are likely to see recent recruits Gareth Moore and Jarrad Hickey make their first home appearances since joining the club.
Meanwhile, second rower Tyrone McCarthy has been recalled by Warrington after a loan spell with Wakefield.
Brough blow
Huddersfield make the short trip without the services of Danny Brough, who suffered an ankly injury in last Sunday's win over Castleford.
The scrum-half had been set to make his England debut against the Exiles on Friday night before he was hurt in the second half of his side's 40-18 triumph at the Shay in Halifax, a result that moved them level with table-toppers Huddersfield on 24 points.
Giants coach Nathan Brown has drafted in Kyle Wood to plug the gap caused by the absence of the former Wakefield player.
"It was obviously disappointing news for us about Danny's injury because he has been in consistently good form for the whole season," said Brown.
"He had earned the right to play for England due to how he had played for the Giants so obviously we feel for Danny a little bit.
"It opens the door for someone else to get an opportunity and Kyle Wood will come in this week, he is a young player who has been waiting patiently for a year or so to get a shot and as one door closes for somebody another one opens."
Overseas forwards David Faiumu and David Fa'logo, who have been picked to play for the Exiles, will not be asked to play a second game in under 48 hours.
Wakefield squad: Blaymire, Murphy, George, Korkidas, Henderson, Morrison, Lee, Tony, Smith, P. Johnson, Dean, Morton, Mariano, Davey, Higgins, Griffin, Amor, Moore, Hickey.
Huddersfield squad: Grix, Lawrence, Cudjoe, Gilmour, Hodgson, Brown, Crabtree, Robinson, Griffin, Lunt, Mason, Raleigh, Kirmond, Patrick, Horne, McGillvary, Wood, Cording, Wardle.
