Briers: recovered from dead leg to return to Wolves squad

Warrington Wolves have stand-off Lee Briers back for Friday's engage Super League meeting with Crusaders.

Briers missed the defeat to Huddersfield last time out with a dead leg and returns at the expense of utility man

The only other change in Wolves coach Tony Smith's 19-man squad is Rhys Williams.

Williams, who began the season on loan at Crusaders, comes in for another young Welsh winger, Rhys Evans, who is rested.

Approach

"I think we've been a bit guilty of trying to run before we walk within games," said Smith.

"We were in great form a month ago, when everything we were trying came off, and sometimes you think it's just going to keep on going.

"When you get into games against some good tough opponents who are ready for you they can start to negate some of the things that are working for you and we need to start to build games.

"We could take a leaf out of Huddersfield's book for instance. They play a pretty steady game where they play some good field position and finish with really good kicks."

Backlash

Crusaders hooker Lincoln Withers returns after a two-match injury absence, while forward Jordan James is recalled, along with the versatile Peter Lupton and leading try scorer Jarrod Sammut.

Wing Stuart Reardon and second row Jason Chan drop out of the squad.

The Welsh side are seeking their first win over the Wolves at the fifth attempt and coach Iestyn Harris, who began his playing career at Warrington, is expecting something of a backlash.

"They will be a little bit filthy with the fact they're coming off a couple of losses," he said.

"It will give us a chance to see where we are at and whether some of our players can stand up at this level."
