Sale coach Mike Brewer believes that it is vital his side silence the partisan Brive crowd on Saturday.
Although Brive have struggled in the Top 14 this season, Brewer is expecting a hostile reaction at the Stadium Municipal.
And the New Zealander knows his troops will need to make a face start to negate the impact of the home support.
"They are under a lot of pressure but sometimes that can help a side," said coach Mike Brewer.
"They can take the shackles off and play a bit and when Brive play a bit they are a very dangerous side. So one of the big things for us on Saturday will be to try and nullify the Brive crowd.
"If they score some points and get on a roll then their crowd will get behind them. But the Brive crowd are like most French crowds and if we get on top of them then the catcalls and the whistling will start."
The Sharks will be boosted by the inclusion of Andrew Sheridan, Mark Cueto, Wame Lewaravu and Paul Williams for the trip to France.
Wales scrum-half Dwayne Peel has also been passed fit, however Iain Thornley and Asaeli Boko are ineligible.
Meanwhile in the weekend's other pool two fixture, Petrarca welcome El Salvador to the Stadio Plebiscito on Saturday. Kick-off is at 2pm GMT (3pm local time).
