Edinburgh will look to extend their unbeaten home record when they face Northampton at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Rob Moffat's side have won their last four Heineken Cup games at home, beating Castres, Ulster, Bath and Stade Français.
And having beaten Northampton twice in the 2000/1 tournament, Edinburgh go into the game full of confidence.
Moffat said: "We've shown in the past couple of years what we're capable of delivering at this level. The challenge now is to prove we can do it again."
Moffat has handed a first start to summer recruit James King in the centres, with Alex Grove dropping to the bench.
Northampton will be without England full-back and veteran winger Bruce Reihana for the trip to Edinburgh.
Foden sprained his ankle in the 18-14 victory over Castres, while Reihana broke a finger.
That means Greig Tonks and Paul Diggin come into the starting XV, with director of rugby Jim Mallinder also making two tactical switches.
Christian Day and Steve Myler are promoted from the bench to replace Calum Clark and Shane Geraghty.
