Olly Barkley will make his debut for Gloucester having been named at inside centre for Saturday's game against Harlequins.
Barkley has recovered from a fractured left wrist - sustained on England duty in New Zealand - and will form an all-England partnership in midfield.
"This is has been a long time coming and I am really excited about the opportunity," Barkley said.
"My rehabilitation has gone really well and now I just want to concentrate on contributing for my new club.
"Harlequins have made an excellent start to the season and we obviously appreciate their threat but after last week's performance and result we are confident we can re-create that again and built on it this weekend.
"I am just delighted to be involved in the side."
Willie Walker continues at fly-half and Matthew Watkins shifts to the wing as a result of Barkley's return.
Malone returns
Harlequins have made just one change for Saturday's tough trip to Kingsholm.
Sitting on top of the table after two games Dean Richards will be hoping his men can make it three from three on Saturday.
Chris Malone, who missed the start of the season through injury, returns at fly-half. In turn Waisea Luveniyali drops to the bench, with Nick Evans still missing through injury.
There is a welcome return for both Gary Botha and Mark Lambert after both men have shrugged off injuries.
