England wing Mark Cueto will make his first Sale appearance of the season when the Sharks host Harlequins in the LV= Cup on Friday.
Cueto, who is the longest serving player at the club, has been away at the World Cup during the start of the campaign but comes back in as one of four changes to the back division.
Will Addison will play on the opposite wing to Cueto while Johnny Leota is brought into the centres and Will Cliff is given the start at scrum-half.
"Coming back to Sale after the World Cup has been fantastic, Steve Diamond has put a smile back on everyone's face, and totally transformed the place," Cueto said.
He added: "On Monday we finished training at 4pm and everyone was happy, last season if we finished at 3pm the lads would have been complaining and that says it all to me."
Discipline
Director of rugby Steve Diamond knows that the Sharks cannot afford a repeat performance of their opening match in this seasons' competition - a 58-27 thrashing by Gloucester last Saturday.
Diamond said: "Last week we let ourselves down with our discipline and set piece. We were in the game until the last 20 minutes before conceding 31 points.
"We have had a good start at Edgeley Park though and are looking to continue our unbeaten run there in front of our own fans."
Harlequins have also accommodated some returnees, but boss Conor O'Shea has not tinkered too much with a team that maintained their unbeaten start to the season against London Irish.
Ross Chisholm returns from injury on the wing, while Joe Gray comes back in at hooker and Joe Trayfoot will start at No. 8 instead of the injured Chris York.
Samoa international Maurie Fa'asavalu will represent Quins for the first time this season and will be looking to continue his impressive form from the World Cup in New Zealand.
