Munster's Heineken Cup campaign could come to a premature end if they lose to Toulon in their do-or-die Pool Three clash on Sunday.
Anything other than a win at the Stade Felix-Mayol would take qualification out of Munster's hands and leave them in serious danger of missing out on a place in the last eight for the first time in 13 seasons.
The 2006 and 2008 Heineken Cup winners currently sit second with two rounds of group action remaining, and trail pool leaders Toulon by two points ahead of their mouthwatering visit to France.
Paul O'Connell will make the trip, the lock's return to the Munster starting XV certainly coming at a more opportune time.
His inclusion means Mick O'Driscoll, although in a rich vein of form, moves to the bench as Tony McGahan makes just three changes from the side that played Ospreys home and away.
Peter Stringer retains the number nine jersey - not surprisingly given his current form - while John Hayes starts ahead of Tony Buckley.
