Nick Kyrgios won a stunning 21-shot rally against Roger Federer at the Laver Cup, but ended up losing the match.
World No 2 Federer was barely ruffled as he cruised to a 6-3 6-2 win over Kyrgios at Chicago's United Center on Saturday night.
Victory for the Swiss great followed Alexander Zverev's earlier win against John Isner as Team Europe powered into a commanding 7-1 lead over the World team.
Despite the occasional flash of brilliance from Kyrgios, he was no match for Federer as the 20-time Grand Slam champion barely broke sweat on his way to a comfortable victory.
