Bradford defender Tony McMahon has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

McMahon has turned down other offers to stay with the Bantams, for whom he will embark on his third full season.

"We are delighted to announce that Tony McMahon has penned a new one-year contract to remain at the Northern Commercials Stadium until at least the end of the 2017/18 season.

"The 31-year-old defender was out of contract at the end of the 2016/17 season but despite having other offers on the table, he opted to remain at Bradford City for the upcoming Sky Bet League One campaign."

McMahon, who began his career at Middlesbrough, has had previous spells at Sheffield United and Blackpool.

He has made a total of 73 appearances for the Bantams since arriving, initially on loan, in March 2015.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sattelmaier has signed a new one-year deal too.

Sattelmaier, whose previous clubs include Stuttgart Kickers and Bayern Munich's second team, made eight first-team appearances for Stuart McCall's side last season.
