Portsmouth sign Dion Donohue from Chesterfield for undisclosed fee

Portsmouth have signed Dion Donohue from Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, has agreed a two-year deal at Fratton Park.

He told Portsmouth's official website: "It was the start of the week when I got the phone call to say that Portsmouth were interested.

"I obviously replied that I wanted to come and then it hit me that the move was actually going to happen."

Donohue was not registered in time to feature in Pompey's Sky Bet League One clash against Walsall on Saturday.

The former Sutton Coldfield player added: "I'm just excited - and grateful - to be here and I can't wait to get the blue shirt on.

"This is a massive club and a great opportunity."
