Premier League clubs have already doubled their spending compared to last January - and there is still a week to go before the end of the transfer window.
Spending was at £116m across the league a year ago - down more than £600m compared to 2023 - as clubs became wary of breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
A year on, though, the total spent in the current window is up to more than £234m, with the most decisive period still to come as teams up and down the Premier League search for mid-season reinforcements before Deadline Day on February 3.
For what is likely to be a dramatic final week of the window, from Monday January 27 to Friday January 31, Sky Sports News' flagship programme The Transfer Show will be broadcasting from the Sky Store at London's Battersea Power Station at 5pm-5.30pm and 7pm-8pm.

It is the first time in Sky Sports News history that we will broadcast in front of a live audience, with presenter Mike Wedderburn joined by Kaveh Solhekol and Dharmesh Sheth and other reporters throughout the week.
The biggest spenders so far
They will have plenty to discuss as clubs continue to invest.
Manchester City are the window's biggest spenders so far having spent more than all Premier League clubs combined last winter, splashing out £126.1m on new recruits.
The champions have signed Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for £63.2m, Vitor Reis from Palmeiras for £29.4m, and Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens for £33.5m.
And City could yet add more signings, with interest in Andrea Cambiaso and Douglas Luiz, both of Juventus, as well as Real Valladolid's teenage centre-back Juma Bah.
As we approach the final week of the window, there are plenty of other clubs also looking to do business, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and West Ham.
The Gunners are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements and have held talks internally about a potential move for RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko, while Wolves' Matheus Cunha is also of interest.
Chelsea are considering a move to sign Alejandro Garnacho as Manchester United look to raise funds to invest in Ruben Amorim's squad, with Lecce's Patrick Dorgu a target, and potentially Christopher Nkunku.
Meanwhile, West Ham are in talks to sign striker Andre Silva from RB Leipzig, having already seen a big offer for Jhon Duran turned down by Aston Villa.
