Wasps have announced the signing of second-row forward Matt Symons from London Irish.

Symons started his career at Saracens but moved to New Zealand in 2012 and made his name with the Chiefs, becoming their vice-captain.

Symons, 26, a former top class rower, will join fellow new signings Danny Cipriani, Kurtley Beale and Tommy Taylor at Wasps this summer.

He joined Irish last season, captaining the side on several occasions.
