Sale Sharks full-back Mike Haley has been banned for two weeks after pleading guilty to striking an opponent with his arm.
An RFU disciplinary case involving Haley was heard on papers in Coventry on Wednesday night, with the 23-year-old pleading guilty to the charge.
He had been cited by independent citing commissioner Shaun Gallagher for striking Wasps' Josh Bassett in the head late in their Aviva Premiership meeting last Friday.
Bassett, who had earlier scored two tries, was left needing to go through the sport's concussion protocols after the incident three minutes from the end of Sale's exciting 28-27 victory.
Haley is free to play again on May 1.
Disciplinary panel chairman Gareth Graham said: "The player pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted that he had made contact with the head of an opponent.
"The panel were mandated to find this a mid-range entry point which carries a starting point of four weeks.
"The player pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity, apologised to the Wasps' player and has a clear record therefore he was entitled to the maximum mitigation of 50 per cent. The player is suspended for two weeks and is free to play again on the May 1."
