Former trainer Ian Balding continues to recover after undergoing emergency surgery following a kick in the stomach from a horse last week.
Balding, known for his exploits with the likes of Mill Reef and Lochsong, now helps out his son Andrew but was kicked in the stomach by a horse at Kempton last Wednesday and was rushed to a hospital in Chertsey.
Andrew Balding reported: "He's making steady progress. The surgery went well and as long as there are no complications he should be out by next week. He's pretty tough."
