Champion retains title with comfortable win

Jason Booth retained his Commonwealth bantamweight title with a comfortable points victory over the brave Lante Addy. In front of his home fans in Nottingham, Booth put on a master-class performance - with the result never in doubt after Addy hit the canvas in the third. The Ghanian, though, put in a gutsy display and continued to march forward throughout the fight - however he was no match for Booth. All three judges awarded the fight to Booth, with scoring coming in 118-110, 118-111, 117-111. The 30-year-old, who won the vacant title against Matthew Edmonds in December, was able to land shots at ease, with his left doing the damage. It was a left hook that put Addy down in the third and rocked him on several occasions - however the challenger showed his bravery by never giving up.
