James Vince sets sights on England's 50-over and Test sides

James Vince hopes his form against Pakistan in Dubai will be the springboard to an extended run in England's Twenty20 side at the very least.
The Hampshire captain has impressed in England's two T20 victories over Pakistan, scoring 79 runs in his two innings as he looks to further his claims for a place in the squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in India, which starts in March.
Vince has batted at No 3 so far, but could move up to an opening role in the series finale in Sharjah on Monday and he will stay on after his team-mates fly home on Tuesday to captain the England Lions against Pakistan's second stringers.
"I was included in the squad last summer, but didn't get the chance to play," Vince said, in reference to his debut in the rain-wrecked clash with Ireland in Dublin.
"So it's nice to come out here and get an opportunity - [and] I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's been a steady start.
"It would have been nice to go on and get a bigger score in one of the games, but I would definitely have taken it at the start of the series.
"I was nervous walking out that first game, in front of a full stadium, but I settled down after a couple of balls and eased into it nicely."
Vince will also be part of the Lions squad for a 50-over series, which comes after a break at home for Christmas, and he wants to use that to prove he should not be seen as a 20-over specialist.
"I'd love to play all formats," he added.
"My first chance has come in Twenty20. [But] I hope I can push on, find my way into the 50-over side - and the Test side as well."
