Ajax have handed professional contracts to four of their most highly-rated youngsters.

Lorenzo Ebecilio (16), Lorenzo Burnet (17) and Florian Josefzoon (17) and Geoffrey Castillion (17) have all been handed three-year terms.

"We are pleased that these boys chose to commit themselves to Ajax on this way", explained technical director Martin van Geel.

"It is logical that we offer the talented youth players a contract at a relatively young age.

"On the one side because we have a lot of trust in the players that have signed their contract today and on the other side to protect ourselves against the interest from big clubs from big leagues."

Ajax have been busy signing up their young talent in recent months as in January, Jeffrey Dekker, Roly Bonevacia, Bryan Ottenhoff, Ricardo van Rhijn, Rik Schouw and Rodney Sneijder all agreed deals.

Colin

Ajax have also taken up the option on defender Jurgen Colin - which came as a shock to the 27-year-old.

Colin joined Ajax last summer but he has barely featured since his arrival from Norwich.

And he admits he was shocked that Ajax decided to extend his stay.

"The strange thing is, that I haven't spoken with anybody of Ajax, but that it has just been told to my agent," Colin told De Telegraaf.

"On the one side I am happy that Ajax have got trust in me, on the other side I hope that my situation improves soon."

The 29-year-old is wanted by De Graafschap to replace Jimmy van Fessen and they have already held talks abouve a possible summer move.
