Sylvester Kirk wins Wolverhampton appeal

Trainer Sylvester Kirk has won his appeal against the demotion of Woodukheleyfit at Wolverhampton on July 5.

Kirk's horse was first past the post in the Visit attheraces.com Maiden Auction Stakes but hung right inside the final furlong, in the process carrying 2/1 joint-favourite Bayston Hill across the track.

Stewards deemed that the interference had cost Bayston Hill the race and duly reversed placings, a decision which met with some disapproval at the time.

And after a hearing on Thursday determined that there had in fact been no contact between the two horses, the decision was reversed and Woodukheleyfit handed the race.
