Emotionless ice-cool at Newmarket and set to follow Frankel route

A review of Friday's action at Newmarket where Emotionless impressed in making a winning debut.
Emotionless is set to chart the route taken by the mighty Frankel after posting an impressive first-time-out victory in the discovernewmarket.co.uk Maiden Stakes at Newmarket.
Always travelling well in the hands of William Buick, the giant-framed colt quickly put the race to bed when sent on to claim the seven-furlong race heading up the rising ground.
Although Perkunas tried to chase down the Charlie Appleby-trained runner, it was a lost cause with the 6/4 favourite crossing the line three and a half lengths clear to complete a double for the winning rider.
Paddy Power introduced the son of Shamardal at 20/1 for next year's Qipco 2000 Guineas and he is likely to be seen next in the Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster on September 11 - a race won as a conditions event in 2010 by Frankel.
Appleby said: "He is a nice colt and is a horse we hold in the highest regard. He has a stout pedigree and we were confident coming here.
"He has a lot of size and scope about him and he would be one of the better two-year-olds. A lot of our two-year-olds have been coming on for the run, but he shown a lot of class from the start.
"We will see how he comes out of it, but we will go to Doncaster for the Listed race there next month."
Mark Johnston is hoping the handicapper reacts accordingly after Montsarrat made up for his near-miss at Goodwood when scrambling home in the Michael Leaman-A Lifetime In Racing Nursery Handicap.
Although sent off the 4/6 favourite the son of Poets Voice needed plenty of driving before edging out Maccus, who was making his first start since finishing down the field in the Coventry Stakes, by a short head in the seven-furlong event, to initiate Buick's brace.
Johnston said: "It was a bit closer than I would have liked. He has been put up in rapid jumps and we have been running him quickly to try and stay ahead of the handicapper.
"He is due to go up 8lb tomorrow, but I don't expect him to go up any more for that. He will have a small break now and he could possibly step up to a mile, but we are in no rush with him."
John Ryan had a broad smile on his face after Ocean Applause put his head in front for the first time in a year when landing the Buffaload Logistics More Load Less Cost Handicap.
Covered up near the rear of the field the 5/1 shot was produced at the right moment by Adam Kirby before coming through late on to take the race by a head from Muhaafiz.
Ryan said: "I told everyone about him two days ago that now Adam is on board this would be his day.
"He is a tricky little horse to ride. He has to be held up until the last minute. Adam covered him up and produced him at the right time. He is a good little horse and he proved it."
Nancy From Nairobi (2/1) held all her rivals at bay with a gutsy victory from the front in the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association EBF Stallions Fillies' Handicap.
Despite joint-favourite Wordcraft looming up as a major threat entering the closing stages of the mile contest, the Mick Channon-trained filly continued to pull out more from the sharp end to register victory by three-quarters of a length and complete a double for the successful handler.
Silvestre de Sousa, winning jockey, said: "She is a tough filly. She was happy out in front and was always travelling well. Even when the Godolphin horse (Wordcarft) came at me I thought I would hold her off."
Sixties Pilgrim (7/4) got the ball rolling for Channon when routing her rivals in the Darren Lewitt Half Century Selling Stakes.
Following the race the juvenile was purchased for £9,000 by Harriet Loder, while runner-up Broughtons Fancy was claimed by trainer David Evans.
