A review of Monday's action at Lingfield where De Kerry Man made all to put William Featherstone on his way to a double.
De Kerry Man enjoyed a confidence-boosting win at Lingfield in the Injured Jockeys Fund Conditional Jockeys' Training Series Handicap Chase.
David Bridgwater lowered the sights of his eight-year-old having run at Cheltenham, Warwick and Kempton this season and the move paid off as the 11/8 favourite made all under William Featherstone.
"That was very good, we just hacked around for the first mile and a half and then raced for half a mile," said Featherstone.
"He jumped grand and gave me a great ride. The ground is so deep, though, it's difficult to know if you should keep the revs up going into fences as you might be going too fast."
Featherstone then doubled up on Georgieshore (5/1) in the Let Us Make Your Good Friday Great! Maiden Hurdle, which means his last four rides have all been successful, good going for a conditional jockey.
Harry Fry has a decent prospect in the shape of Overtown Express (4/6 favourite) who followed up an easy success at Exeter last month with a similar win in the Racing Welfare Introducing Racing's Support Line Novices' Hurdle.
Noel Fehily was on board the steering job and said on At The Races: "He's a big horse and he handles this ground, which is key.
"He goes through it better than others and that's his big advantage."
Ceann Sibheal (5/4 favourite) was a 15-length winner of the shakathebookiesmacker.com Handicap Hurdle for Warren Greatrex and Gavin Sheehan.
Sheehan said: "He was very gutsy. I got him rolling coming down the hill and on this ground he's done it well.
"I don't think he was doing much in front, just idling."
Jamie Moore survived a few hairy moments as Gold Carrot (3/1 co-favourite) prevailed in the Mick Hughes 69th Birthday Novices' Handicap Chase.
"He's just not a very good jumper," said Moore, of his father Gary's winner.
"He's better at home than he is on the track."
