News of the pick of the action from Kelso where Savello provided Bridget Andrews with a first winner at the track.

Bridget Andrews was all smiles after landing the £50,000 Liz Adam Memorial Chase on Savello, her first ride at the Borders course and also a maiden track success for her employer Dan Skelton.

Savello, on whom Andrews finished fourth in the Grand Annual Chase at Cheltenham, stormed past the post five-lengths clear of Dormello Mo.

"I rode the last winner at Wetherby yesterday (Friday) and then went home," she said.

"I flew up from Birmingham and I am getting a lift back to the Midlands in the horsebox tonight.

"It's a great place to come to and the prize money is terrific. I had a walk around before racing and it's a lovely track to ride. The chase track is more galloping and Savello loved the test - a fast run two miles suits him well.

"Our yard has had a wonderful year and it would new nice to get 100 winners."

"It's nice to ride too and the chase course reminds me of Ludlow except it is the other way round.

"I flew up from Southampton to Edinburgh with Nick Scolfield and I've really enjoyed the trip.

"Silsol is a legend and he was my first ride for Paul. He's also given me lots of Saturday winners and four in all."
