Celebrity rider taken to hospital after Goodwood fall

Annette Lynton-Mason was taken to hospital for further tests after a fall from her mount in the celebrity women's race at Goodwood. The wife of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason took a tumble shortly after passing the post in eighth place in the six-furlong contest. She was treated on the track before being taken to St Richards's, Chichester Hospital. Lynton-Mason was riding the Richard Hannon-trained Avon River, who ran under the name of Three Crowns for the purposes of the race, the Magnolia Cup. The event was staged in aid of London's Great Ormond Street Hospital.
