Reveley star to have flat outing
Tazbar could make his long-awaited return at Pontefract next Monday after being kept out of action for well over a year with injury.
Keith Reveley's stable star won three of his four starts as a novice chaser, with his only defeat coming at the hands of subsequent King George and Gold Cup hero Long Run in the 2009 Feltham Novices' Chase at Kempton.
He has not been seen since bolting up at Doncaster in February 2010, but will soon be back in competitive action.
"Tazbar is back and he's in good form. He's not too far away from a run, actually," said Reveley.
"I'd quite like to give him a run or two on the Flat but the handicapper won't give him a mark, which means he needs to either run in a maiden or a conditions race.
"All the maidens available to him are on tight tracks, which wouldn't suit, so I might have to run him in a conditions race somewhere.
"There is a two-and-a-quarter-mile race at Pontefract next Monday, so he might run there, but we'll see.
"The idea is to have a run or two on the Flat and then run in the good handicap hurdle at Haydock on Betfair Chase day in November.
"He's a good horse and hopefully everything goes right for him this season."
