The Ferdy Murphy-trained gelding showed how much he appreciates good going when winning the Centenary Novices' Handicap Chase at the Festival meeting in March. "Divers is going to go for the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham December meeting as long as the ground is suitable," said Mark Ball, racing manager for owners Let's Live Racing. "It was too slow for him last time at Cheltenham and after that he'll probably be put away for a spring campaign." Ball is looking forward to Nine De Sivola, also trained by Murphy, taking his chance in the John Smith's Scottish Borders National at Kelso on December 4. "If he still has the old ability, he would have a chance on the ratings," he added.
