Fairyhouse bumper winner could go to the top

Nina Carberry was extremely impressed by the successful performance of Don Cossack in the concluding bumper at Fairyhouse on Monday. Trained by Gordon Elliott, the highly-regarded five-year-old has now won three of his four races under Rules and carried 12st to victory yesterday, beating Elsie, who had previously chased home Cheltenham winner Champagne Fever, by 17 lengths. "He's a right horse. Hopefully he'll go to the top, he's improving all the time and has done nothing wrong and should get stronger," said Carberry. "He loves soft ground, he's a real winter horse and I think he's a right horse. "He probably wants further than two miles, ground would be the key to him over that trip, it's up to them want they want to do. "He's won three bumpers and usually they want further. "You never know because he's only doing enough but I'd say he had plenty left yesterday," she told At The Races.
