Consistent sort deserves to pick up a big prize

Richard Lee's consistent eight year old Hector's Choice is set for one more outing this season at Ayr. He has progressed through the year, with his best performance coming when second to Nacarat in the Racing Plus Chase at Kempton in February. He disappointed behind Salut Flo in the Byrne Group Plate at Cheltenham, but Lee hopes that by the time of the Scottish National meeting he will have had long enough to recover from those exertions. "Hector's Choice will run again this season, he'll go to Ayr," said Lee. "There's a race for him the day before the Scottish National, the Hillhouse Quarry Handicap Chase. "He ran very well at Kempton, but in those conditions Nacarat is nearly unbeatable around there. "Cheltenham may have come too soon so we've given him a nice break and hope to land a decent race he deserves. "He's been placed in some big races this season but the prize money between winning and losing is a heck of a lot."
