Andrew Balding is considering aiming last weekend's Newbury winner Minimise Risk for the MNBA Chester Vase on May 10.
Owned by Jim and Fitri Hay, the Investec Derby entry was runner-up on his debut at Doncaster on March 31 and went one place better when holding off Uriah Heep in a mile-and-three-furlongs maiden at the Berkshire track.
Balding plans to run Bonfire in the Dee Stakes at the same meeting and Wedneday's Epsom winner Goldoni, who cannot run in the Derby because he is a gelding, heads for the Lingfield Derby Trial.
"We'll have to play it by ear and see what happens, but Minimise Risk could well go for the Chester Vase," Balding said.
