Cowell maps out road to Royal Ascot

Prohibit has his prep race for the defence of his King's Stand Stakes crown at Chantilly on Sunday when he lines up for the Prix du Gros-Chene. Robert Cowell's speedster took the same route last summer when he was just touched off by the reopposing Wizz Kid in the French Group Two before taking the honours in the five-furlong Group One at Royal Ascot. Prohibit has not yet been seen in this country this year, having spent time in Meydan where he ran three times. "If he can bounce back to form he would be right in the shake-up and that would be his prep race for the King's Stand," said Cowell. Stablemate Monsieur Joe disappointed in the Temple Stakes at Haydock last Saturday, but Cowell still hopes to get him to the big meeting. He said: "His problem is he's just had a couple of races too quick since he came back from Dubai. He'll be freshened up now and go for the King's Stand."
