Andrew Balding is looking forward to running his progressive charge Tullius in Saturday's Ian and Kate Macmillan Ganton Stakes at York.
Progressive charge has penalty to carry
Tullius will attempt to stay on an upward curve when he goes in search of a three-timer in the Ian and Kate Macmillan Ganton Stakes at York on Saturday.
The four-year-old has won both his starts since joining Andrew Balding when Peter Winkworth retired from training at the end of last season.
After winning a Newmarket handicap in early May, the Le Vie Dei Colori gelding lifted a Listed contest at Windsor, for which he is penalised 3lb in this race.
"He's learning his trade, won well last time and I've had chance to freshen him up," said Balding.
"He seems in good form. It's a tricky race and he's got a penalty to carry, but he's in great order."
Wait And See
Richard Hannon would like to run
Rockinante, but will wait to see how conditions are before deciding whether to let the three-year-old colt take his chance.
"We have declared Rockinante, but we will see what the weather does before we give the green light," he told
www.richardhannonracing.tv.
"He did not run his race in Italy last time, but that is a long journey by road and he is better judged on his third in the Prix Djebel, which would give him a definite chance."
