Leg injury is now the cause for concern

Dual champion jockey Paul Hanagan appears to have escaped serious injury after a nasty fall in the opening race at Newmarket on Saturday. Hanagan came down in the £150,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Cup when riding No Dominion, who clipped heels with the Richard Hughes-ridden Viewpoint. He was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for X-rays which initially came back clear, although he has been called back in for a second check on his leg. His agent Richard Hale said: "He's had the X-rays on his elbow and initially they said it was just bad bruising. They have since called him back in for another X-ray on his leg, so we're just hoping that's fine now. "They thought it was just a dead leg at first but they're just making sure. He'll be having a week off at least, I'd have thought."
