Tactical race concerns Arc heroine's connections

Danedream's jockey, Andrasch Starke, is concerned about the possibility of a slow pace in the Grosser Preis Von Baden in Germany this weekend. Starke is more than a little worried that a small field could work against the Peter Schiergen-trained Arc and King George winner. "We are very happy with the filly at the moment for Sunday ahead of Baden-Baden," he told At The Races. "It's a race she won last year in preparation for the Arc. "Of course our ambition is the Arc but there's a lot of nice horses in the race on Sunday. "There could only be six or seven runners, including the (German) Derby winner Pastorius. "We are just a little worried there could be no pace, we don't want to make the running to set it up for the others."

Frankel Fear

Starke admits the one horse he would not like to face when Danedream defends her Arc crown at Longchamp is Frankel. Sir Henry Cecil's superstar appears more likely to take in the Champion Stakes at Ascot, but a swansong in Paris on the first weekend in October has not been ruled out. Starke said: "If a horse like Frankel ran that would be a different thing, but everything else can be beaten. "We would be happy if Camelot turns up, as he is a horse we respect, but I'd honestly rather not see Frankel - he's a horse from another planet. "All racing fans should be proud to live at the same time as a horse like him."
