Selective watering on Grand National course

Watering is set to take place overnight on parts of the Grand National course in order to maintain conditions.
The going for the second day of the Crabbie's-sponsored meeting was 'Good to Soft, Good in places' on the National course, but with the forecast rain having failed to arrive at the track before racing on Friday, clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch has been forced to take action.
"We'll do some very selective watering, up to 3-4mm, at around the 13th and 14th fences and in a couple of other spots," he said after racing on Friday. "The aim will be to leave the going exactly as it was for today.
"I won't need to water the Mildmay and Hurdle courses. Although they might dry out a little bit, we are moving the rails again overnight to leave grass that hasn't been raced on for a year and to be honest it's in lovely condition as it is."
