Fintry set for Sandown

Master French trainer Andre Fabre has confirmed Fintry an intended runner in the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Atalanta Stakes at Sandown on Saturday.

The Godolphin-owned Shamardal filly has won three of her four starts to date, but has not been seen in competitive action since running out an impressive winner of the Prix de Sandringham at Chantilly almost three months ago.

Fabre expects the three-year-old to benefit from this weekend's outing, but is still anticipating a bold show, with a tilt at the Group One Sun Chariot at Newmarket in October already pencilled in.

"The plan is for her to run at Sandown. She would prefer good ground, so we will see what happens," said Fabre.

"She is a nice filly who won her Group Two at Chantilly very well, but after that she picked up a virus and was sick for a while.

"For that reason, she might need the race on Saturday, but she is a talented filly and I still expect her to run well.

"If all goes well, the Sun Chariot could be the plan (for Fintry)."
