Grand National hero Pineau De Re is not yet back in the care of trainer Dr Richard Newland but has been pencilled in for a hurdling start at some stage before Christmas.

The 11-year-old has not been seen on the racecourse since his five-length victory in the famous Aintree race in April.

"He's in great order, he's actually at a pre-training yard," Newland told At The Races. "He has done lots and lots of roadwork and he'll come back to us in about four weeks.
