Mike Marshall will replace David Eustace as assistant trainer to Roger Varian at Kremlin House in Newmarket.
Varian, who become the newest trainer to add his name to the list of Classic winners when Kingston Hill landed the St Leger at Doncaster last week, moved swiftly to replace Eustace, who joined the yard as pupil-assistant to the late Michael Jarvis in 2010.
The Newmarket handler told www.varianstable.com: "I would like to thank David for all his hard work and dedication over the past five seasons.
"We are sad to see him go but it is the right time for him to move on and I wish him all the luck for the future.
"I am delighted to have secured Mike's services. He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise from his time with Sir Henry Cecil and Godolphin before that.
"I am very much looking forward to working with Mike - his addition is of huge benefit to us as a team."
