Maftool in frame for Dewhurst

Exciting juvenile Maftool could be supplemented for the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket next Friday.
After breaking his maiden tag at the second attempt at Pontefract, Saeed bin Suroor's youngster was runner-up in the Sirenia Stakes at Kempton before getting back on the winning trail over the Dewhurst course and distance in the Somerville Tattersall Stakes.
The American-bred colt still holds an entry in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on October 25, but trainer Saeed bin Suroor revealed the Group One Dewhurst is also under consideration.
Bin Suroor said: "Maftool is in good form and we are considering options for him.
"He is in the Racing Post Trophy, but we might also consider the Dewhurst.''
