Danny Cook plans to be back in the saddle on Thursday at Newcastle after escaping serious injury in a fall at Musselburgh on Monday.
He headed to the Edinburgh circuit in a rich vein of form having built up a good recent relationship with trainer Sue Smith following the impromptu retirement of Grand National-winning jockey Ryan Mania.
The jockey was still in with every chance of adding to his tally aboard the Brian Ellison-trained Apterix when he came to grief at the final flight in the William Hill - Bet On The Move Maiden Hurdle.
Cook initially intended to head to hospital in Newcastle for X-rays on his arm, but decided to go home and see how he felt following a night's sleep.
"I'm a bit sore, but I think all is well, which is good," said Cook.
"I haven't been to have it checked out. I was going to go if it was really sore, but it wasn't too bad when I woke up today.
"I'm going to give it a couple of days rest and I'll be back for Thursday at Newcastle."
