Sean Bowen's hot streak of form has been derailed by a shoulder injury that will see him sidelined until next month.

The ace conditional jockey was hurt in a fall at Catterick on Thursday. He was partnering the Ian Duncan-trained Milborough in the North Yorkshire Grand National but the pair got no further than the first fence.

The jockey's father, trainer Peter Bowen, said on Friday: "Sean came out of hospital last night and he's all right. He's just torn a ligament off his shoulder.

"He's going to see a specialist in Cardiff today, I believe, and we'll know a bit more after that, but I'd imagine he'll be out for three or four weeks.
