Tom Gibney's evergreen veteran Lion Na Bearnai may try to win the Boylesports Irish Grand National for a second time on Easter Monday.

The 13-year-old took the valuable staying handicap chase in 2012 and was 11th behind Shutthefrontdoor last April, but that effort came just 16 days after he rain in the Crabbie's Grand National at Aintree.

Lion Na Bearnai showed he was no back number when going down by only a length to Los Amigos at Fairyhouse last weekend.

"There's not a bother on him. It was a good run and showed he retains some of his old ability," said Gibney.

"We have no plans set in stone. I suppose we have to think about the Irish National again. We went to Aintree last year and it didn't work out. We won't be going back.
