Lightscameraction reeled in Blue Aegean in the Unibet 3 Year Old Sprint All-Weather Championships Conditions Stakes at Lingfield.
James Doyle set a blistering pace aboard Godolphin's Blue Aegean and he looked to have stolen the contest a furlong from home.
However, Lightscameraction managed to keep close tabs on him in first-time blinkers, and he got on top under a strong Luke Morris drive in the closing stages.
Merdon Castle stayed on best out of the pack for third.
Winning trainer Gay Kelleway said: "Lightscameraction is a really nice horse. I only have 25 horses, not 300 like some of the winners today, and it is great for a small yard like ours.
"The owners have five horses with me and it is great for them as well. They are British owners and it is important to keep British owners in the game.
"The horse trained really well for the race and I really fancied him. He is by Pastoral Pursuits and a bit lazy at home but the blinkers have really sharpened him up."
Morris, celebrating a record 102nd winner of the All-Weather Championships season, said: "It was a little bit of a surprise after I rode him the last two days. But Gay put the headgear on and said he's ready to run today, he's spot-on. And fair play, she had him perfect on the day.
"We went a real proper gallop the whole way. The way the track is riding today it seems to be more of a speed-favouring track and it suited him.
"I thought I'd get James [Doyle, on Blue Aegean] easily but fair play to his filly, she really stuck her head down and made it hard for me.
"This is the icing on the cake winning one of the big races today. I was hoping it might be Don't Be [beaten a neck and a nose in the opener], but it's great to grab one before the day is out."
Charlie Appleby, trainer of the runner-up, said: "I'm delighted with the way she ran, she's a little speed ball. James Doyle said she just ran out of petrol in the last 50 yards and she will have a good rest now along with the rest of today's team."
James Doyle, who partnered Blue Aegean, added: "I'm pleased with her; she showed a lot of early speed. She's a lovely little filly."
David Elsworth, trainer of Merdon Castle, remarked: "We accept defeat with grace."
